Birdon currently employs over 200 personnel throughout the United States, operating successfully from multiple locations. In addition to our head office and production facilities in Denver, CO, we have established a program office and manufacturing facility in Bellingham, WA focused on the modernization and life-extension of the US Coast Guard’s Motor Life Boat (MLB).
As part of the program, Birdon is also in the process of establishing a similar facility on the US East Coast which will enable us to modernize MLB vessels operating along these shores, minimizing their time away from station.
Our fundamental business methodology involves a mix of facility ownership, on site program management, sub-contracted assembly, and shared technical resources. The result is program solutions that are truly tailored to customer program success, not self-convenience. In 2009, as part of the prototype phase for the BEB, Birdon successfully partnered with a Gulf Coast shipyard prior to the final award in 2013. This close teaming approach has also been utilized for our US Coast Guard Waterway Commerce Cutter offer, to significantly reduce the customer’s program risk, and transportation cost and times. Our team mobilizes to project-based locations as required, including the provision of all aspects of product through-life support.
